I’m Joan Concilio, a Pennsylvania native currently living in Arizona. I love science, medicine, technology, martial arts, writing, editing, unschooling and geeking out.

I have more than 20 years of experience as a print and digital media professional, with a focus on web development and content management, community-building, workflow improvements and customer service. And in my spare time, I’m a second-degree black belt, abstract artist, writer, nonprofit founder, scrapbooker, Scrabble player, jigsaw-puzzler and stuffed-animal collector.

If I had something as formal as an “artist’s statement,” it would probably go something like this:

Joan hasn’t yet figured out what they want to be if they ever grows up.

Joan studied math at York College and public health at Penn State, designs and develops websites professionally and creates with paint and words for fun. Most of their art involves jumping around the dining-room table and making a mess through ink and collage.

Joan’s work has appeared at several galleries in central Pennsylvania, including YorkArts, the York Art Association, The Parliament, HIVE ArtSpace, The Rooted, Adams County Art Council and Penn State College of Medicine/Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Art-relatedly, I’m available for bespoke pieces as well as prints and originals of existing works; workishly, I’d love to talk to you about your digital needs. In either case, contact me for details.
