Lassa fever story and Mania: Free Radicals honored

Joan Concilio |

It’s been a great week for writing… I found out that my piece on Juan Roman, who died in York, Pa., of Lassa fever in 1969, won first place for feature writing in the Pennsylvania Keystone Press Awards. You can read it here.

Also, an essay titled Mania: Free radicals was selected for inclusion in Wild Onions, the literary and art journal of Penn State College of Medicine. (An art piece of mine, Grapefruit Sunrise, will also appear.)

I am incredibly grateful for the recognition, but more so for the opportunity to continue to share my work!
